Summary of our Icelandic adventure.

Finally, after 8 months I am finishing my posts from Iceland. I would like to sum up this trip in a few words.

I must admit that it's been the biggest trip in my life so far. For the first time I travelled around (sadly not across) one whole country by car, it was a real roadtrip. I have never spent so many days on travelling before (except some summer camps during school years long time ago) and for sure it was special journey for many other reasons.

Reykjavik's stroll.

After travelling for whole week around the country, we came back to Reykjavik. Our friends decided to stay at hostel and take some rest, while I and Peter went for the last stroll in Iceland's capital. 

Golden Circle.

I am coming up to the end of my coverage of Iceland roadtrip. One of the last places we had to see was "Golden Circle" - area in south-west part of Iceland, not so far from Reykjavik, consisted of the national park Þingvellir, the waterfall Gullfoss (meaning "golden falls"), and geysers. Our first stop was Þingvellir - the place where Icelandic nation and its politics were born. Settlers gathered there for the first time in history in 930, and continued their meetings fro next 1000 years. They created a parliament called Alþingi where people discussed and decided about most important issues. They usually sat for 6 weeks in June and July, when due to good weather Þingvellir was easy to reach from most parts of the country. 

2013 → 2014.

Writing a review of past year it's not the easiest thing for me. When I read other people's summaries I feel like I should have done more / should have spent more time on certain things and less on others. But now new 2014 has come and it is a good time to think about what I want to achieve in next 365 days.
